AMLA



Amla it is told that Amla originate from Amrit.After the samudra manthan amrit spilled down on the earth at the time of fighting between demon and god and amla originates.Amla can helpful in almost all diseases.
Amla is sour and little bit sweeter in taste.Amla is helpful in vat,pitta,cough dosh.Amla helps in reducing pitta because its cooling energy.It is also a good apeatizer.
Amla is really a Amrit because of its medicinal properties.
Now we see the ways in which amla is used.
  • Amla is used in shampoo.
  • Amla is used in soaps.
  • Supari of Amla is made.
  • Amla is the main ingredient in Chawanprash
  • Pickles of different kinds of Amla are made.
  • Jams of amla are made.
  • Amla oil for hair is made from Amla.
All above mentioned we can made at home.

So now we see how the Amla Piclkle is made at home:
Amla Pickle

Ingredients:

1\2kg Amla
100grm Mirchi Powder
5 spoon Mustard
1/4 litre Mustard oil
2 spoon Turemeric
4 Teaspoon  salt
2 Teaspoon Methi Dana

Preparation:

  • Boil the Amla into water for 10 minutes.
  • Take out all Amla's from water and keep it into plate.
  • Once cool down,just press the amla,its petals get seperated into pieces.
  • Throwout the seeds.
  • Take the methidana roast it well and powder it when cool down also roast 4 spoon of Mustard and make fine powder.
  • Take all Amla petals together and put 2 spoon of  Turemeric,4 teaspoon salt,100grms of chilli powder or as per your taste,methi dana and mustard powder,mix all ingredients well together well.
  • Heat the Mustard oil till the smoke come out from it.
  • when the oil cool down mix it into amla mixture.
  • Put the pickle in the dry jar and tight the lid.
  • Picke is ready to eat after 10 days.
Amla Candy:
Because of the sour taste of the amla people does not like to eat amla although it has numerous amount of benefits.Even amla supari people don't like to eat because of bitterness in taste.You can't even think that kids eat amla supari.

Amla candy,every one loves to eat but if you go to buy amla candy from market you will have to pay almost 100Rs.for 250grms of amla candy.
But if we make amla candy at home in 100Rs you can make 2kg. of amla candy.
Procedure to make Amla candy at home:

  • Take one kg of amla boil it into water for 20 minutes.
  • When cooled down take all amla's from water break all amla's into petals just press amla from top,it will be break into petals.
  • Take 2kg of sugar put it into mixer jar and make the fine powder of sugar.
  • Take all amla in a big pot put one kg of sugar mix it well with all amla petals and keep all sugar coated petals in the pot for 24 hours,after that let them dry for 1 day and at evening again put it into the sugered water from which we take the amla petals for drying so they can again soak the sugar syrup. In the same way dry the amla for four days,again mix them with left over 1kg. of powdered sugar.If you want you can kept it into jar for further use or you can use it eat daily.It is the good option is the mouth freshner.
